Description:
This lovely 1.18 acre island is tucked away from boat traffic in intimate little Duck Bay, just north of Marsh Island in the south arm of Rainy Lake. Because of its sheltered location, if you are a patient nature lover, you will be greeted by many desirable visitors: otters, white pelicans, eagles, loons, hummingbirds, deer and more. The island's main cabin, designed by Minnesota architect Jim Cowgill, is truly unique, attractive and practical. Designed with a view of Rainy Lake from every room, the cabin's custom floor to ceiling windows come with lower-level screens that allow for a wonderful breeze that provides nature's air conditioning in the summer months. The sunroom has expansive screens on three sides that let the beauty of nature in and keep mosquitoes out. The living room is spacious with a large, welcoming stone fireplace to take the chill off the air. A nicely sized dining room provides a perfect space for gathering and is convenient to the kitchen. The master bedroom also has custom windows which sometimes provide a late night view of the Northern Lights. The rough cedar siding and maple flooring throughout the cabin give all the rooms a connected and warm feeling. The main cabin includes one bedroom and a queen size hide-a-bed sofa in the living room as well as a bathroom.  Overflow guests enjoy the island's second cabin that has a screen porch on the west side providing a spectacular view of the sunset and provides another sleeping bag option for kids of any age. A south facing deck offers alternate views of the Lake and Marsh Island. The main floor of this cabin can sleep four people and the upstairs bedroom accommodates three. If fishing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing or swimming is your thing, Duck Bay is a great location for you. Both cabins are comfortably furnished and outfitted - everything that is necessary to move in and enjoy cabin life on Rainy Lake.
